Abstract: This application is a utility for monitoring the wide area network (WAN) IP address of a network and reporting changes via email. Several techniques for determining the WAN IP address are included. First, the application can be configured to tap into a specified portion of standard tracert output, via a regular expression. When the capture from the regular expression match changes, the result is reported to a desired email address. Second, the IP address can be fetched from one of a few websites that provide this reporting as a public service (e.g., WhatIsMyIP.com.) The application has many configuration options and comes with a configuration tool, including a regular expression tester.
